Brandon Jude “B.J.” Billeaudeau, MPA, in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana office, has been promoted to Director. Billeaudeau’s practice focuses primarily on the analysis of healthcare provider compensation and business transactions with Stark, Anti-Kickback or other federal or state regulatory implications, including IRS private inurement and corporate practice of medicine. Prior to joining HealthCare Appraisers, Billeaudeau served as the administrative leader of the clinical oncology service line for Mary Bird Perkins Cancer Center in Baton Rouge, where he oversaw management of clinical operations and business processes for six outpatient infusion departments and five physician practices. In addition to transactions within the oncological arena, he is routinely involved in compensation valuation for all other medical and surgical specialties, including management services. Billeaudeau earned a Master of Public Administration in Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University.
Alex Houston, JD, CHC, in the Boca Raton, Florida office, has been promoted to Manager. Houston’s practice focuses on valuation and analysis of various healthcare provider call coverage services and compensation arrangements. Prior to joining HealthCare Appraisers, he served as the law clerk for a civil litigation practice in St. Louis, Missouri, while completing his law degree. Houston received a Juris Doctor from Mitchell Hamline School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Justice Studies from Arizona State University. Houston is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
Will Kaufmann, JD/MBA, in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania office, has been promoted to Manager. Kaufmann specializes in fair market value analyses for compensation arrangements which may have Stark and/or Anti-Kickback implications. His focus spans the fair market value and commercial reasonableness analysis of hospital arrangements with physicians for clients nationwide, and he primarily serves the Raleigh, North Carolina and surrounding markets. Prior to joining HealthCare Appraisers, Kaufmann practiced law in real estate, bankruptcy and intellectual property. He earned a Juris Doctor from The Villanova University Charles Widger School of Law, a Master of Business Administration from Villanova University, and a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northeastern University. Kaufmann is a member of the Pennsylvania Bar and part of the North Carolina Bar Association.
Lauren Lipman, JD, MHA, in the Boca Raton, Florida office, has been promoted to Senior Associate. Lipman’s practice focuses on valuation and analysis of healthcare provider compensation arrangements. Prior to joining HealthCare Appraisers, Lipman served as Assistant Administrator for a home health agency and Business Office Coordinator of an assisted living facility. Lipman received a Master of Health Administration from Florida Atlantic University, a Juris Doctor from Barry University School of Law, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology from the University of Miami. Lipman is a member of the American Health Lawyers Association.
Chris Vaughan, in the Baton Rouge, Louisiana office, has been promoted to Manager. Vaughan’s practice focuses on business valuation. Prior to joining HealthCare Appraisers, he was an Equity Research Analyst for a nationally recognized securities research program. Vaughan earned a Bachelor of Science in Management with a major in Finance from Tulane University, and will complete his Master of Business Administration in May 2020 from Louisiana State University.
