BOCA RATON, Fla., May 1 – HealthCare Appraisers, Inc., a leading healthcare valuation firm with offices nationwide, released its comprehensive 2019 Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) Valuation Survey. The survey contains valuable insights into ASC valuation multiples, transaction trends, and other operating metrics. A complimentary download is available at: www.healthcareappraisers.com/ASCSurvey. HealthCare Appraisers’ first ASC valuation survey was conducted in 2003 and has since become an indispensable industry resource.
HealthCare Appraisers collaborated with members of the Ambulatory Surgery Center Association (ASCA) to provide an expanded opportunity for participation in the 2019 survey. Respondents collectively own or manage more than 1,000 ASCs across the United States, representing approximately 20 percent of the ASC market. Participants include ASC management companies, health systems, ASC investment bankers, and business brokers.
“Collaborating with ASCA allowed for unprecedented access to key industry leaders in the marketplace,” said Matthew Muller, ASA, director at HealthCare Appraisers and author of the survey. “Highlights of the 2019 survey include notable, year-over-year increases in valuation multiples; strong ASC investor interest among private equity firms, management companies, and health systems; and an expanded list of survey participants.”
HealthCare Appraisers’ contributing experts to the publication are Nicholas J. Janiga, ASA, partner, and Hunter M. Outcalt, MTX, CPA, director. HealthCare Appraisers’ ASC valuation experience is extensive, and is led by a team which has valued hundreds of ASCs for well-known surgery center management companies, health systems, physician investors, and private equity platforms.
